Netflix’s Q1 tells a bigger story, and it has something to do with Jerry West, Travis Kalanick, Oxycontin, and We. More on that in a bit. In this week’s earnings results, Netflix said it lost 200,000 subscribers during the first quarter, the company’s first decline in paid users in over a decade. The churn was greatest in North America (600,000) and Russia (700,000).
