Shopify has positioned itself successfully as a savior to small businesses. This latest demand generation effort should only bolster its image by the introduction of yet another advertising channel for DTC companies. Now, with a new Roku plug-in, brands can tap connected TV media buys directly from their Shopify portal. According to AdAge, Roku’s Shopify app lets brands select their audience, timing, budget size and duration themselves, making TV advertising accessible to merchants who may otherwise have been blocked out by price and resources.
